Tuesday February 14, 2023 in Guatemala, after their defeat against El Salvador on Sunday February 12 [3-0] in their first pool match of the play-offs phase of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023, our young Grenadiers U-17 in Group H on the lawn of the Pensativo stadium in Antigua, faced the "Suriboys" of Suriname for the second match.
The first period ended in a draw [0-0] Suriname, however, making a good impression. 8 minutes after the return from the locker room Sebastien Udell Joseph opened the scoring for Haiti at 53' [1-0], Schneilorens Lebrun broke the score at 69' [2-0] and Samuelle Lamarre concluded the victory of Haiti at 83' [3-0].
This first victory paves the way for our Grenadiers towards the 8th finals and who had started this competition badly.
Haiti is now placed in 3rd place in Group H with 3 points before facing Honduras on Thursday, February 16.
